BARCELONA, Spain (Interstat) — Almeda defeated Plasencia 50-42 in a Spain LF2 women’s professional basketball game Saturday.

The home victory avenged a December loss to Plasencia and improved Almeda’s season record to 7-17. Plasencia fell to 9-16. The result defied a statistical projection favoring the visitors.

Nuria Bernal led Almeda with 11 rebounds and 8 points. Mar Coll Vinent scored a team-high 12 points, and Laura Tierno added 11. Cristina Lazaro paced Plasencia with 10 points.

Almeda next plays at Ciudad de Mostoles on April 18. Plasencia hosts Edbaser the same day.
