Araski vs. Avenida

Preview: Araski Faces Daunting Task at Avenida in LF Endesa Clash

SALAMANCA, Spain (Interstat) — A stark contrast in form will be on display Wednesday when the struggling Araski (8-18) visits the powerhouse Perfumerías Avenida (26-12) in a Liga Femenina Endesa women’s basketball matchup.

The game, set for April 8, 2026, at Pabellón de Würzburg in Salamanca, pits one of the league’s bottom teams against a perennial contender. Araski enters on a five-game losing skid across all competitions, including a demoralizing 59-84 home loss to Zaragoza last Saturday. Avenida, meanwhile, looks to rebound from a narrow 67-69 road defeat to Joventut Badalona on the same day.

Araski’s hopes will lean heavily on forward Noa Morro, who has been a bright spot during the downturn. She is coming off a 12-point, 8-rebound performance against Zaragoza and a 17-point, 9-rebound effort against Estudiantes on March 22. Support from guards like Dominique Toussaint (10 points, 4 assists vs. Zaragoza) and center Quinn Urbaniak Dornstauder will be essential.

History, however, offers a sliver of optimism for the visitors. In their last meeting on Oct. 4, 2025, Araski pulled off a stunning 57-56 home victory over Avenida. Replicating that defensive feat on the road presents a monumental challenge.

Avenida boasts a deep and experienced roster built for a postseason run. Their 26-12 record reflects consistency, though recent results show vulnerability, including a home loss to Jairis on Feb. 14. Playing in front of their home crowd, they are heavily favored to control the tempo and exploit their significant advantage in the standings.

For Araski, the schedule offers little respite, with a visit to Jairis looming on April 12. Avenida looks ahead to a road test at Estudiantes on April 11. Wednesday’s contest is expected to be a showcase of Avenida’s championship aspirations against Araski’s fight for survival.
