ZARAGOZA (Interstat) — Zaragoza earned a dominant home victory over Estepona in women’s professional basketball on Sunday, winning 68-41. The home team started strong and led 16-11 after the first quarter. Zaragoza extended its advantage with 11 points in the second quarter while Estepona scored nine. In the third quarter, Zaragoza outscored Estepona 19-13. Zaragoza then closed the game with 22 points in the fourth quarter, while Estepona added eight. Zaragoza never trailed and built a comfortable margin by halftime. The home side continued to dictate tempo after the break, holding Estepona to eight points in the final quarter. Estepona struggled to find consistent offense against Zaragoza’s pressure defense. The win moved Zaragoza to 1-0 this season. Estepona fell to 0-2 after opening the campaign with a road loss at San Giovanni. Estepona will look to regroup in its next game at home against Ensino, while Zaragoza will next travel to Gernika Bizkaia.
