CAB Madeira at CDEFF

FUNCHAL, Portugal (Interstat) — CDEFF will host CAB Madeira on Saturday in a women’s professional basketball game matching two teams off to 1-0 starts.

CAB Madeira enters after an 81-71 win at Barcelos. Milica Ivanovic is a player to watch for the visitors. In that victory, she played 30 minutes and finished with 22 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Rafaela Henriques added 18 points, nine rebounds and one assist in 27 minutes, while Marcy Goncalves contributed 12 points, six rebounds and three assists in 33 minutes. CDEFF also opened with a victory, defeating Uniao Sportiva 73-58. Anna Hager leads the home side into the matchup after a strong all-around performance, recording 20 points, 12 rebounds and one assist in 34 minutes. Cristina Freitas added 13 points, six rebounds and eight assists in 29 minutes, and Kyra Gardner had nine points, six rebounds, four assists and one block in 28 minutes. CDEFF will rely on that scoring depth and rebounding presence as it tries to remain unbeaten.

The game features two of the early unbeatens in the league. CAB Madeira’s Milica Ivanovic and CDEFF’s Anna Hager are expected to play central roles. Ivanovic’s scoring and playmaking were on display in the win at Barcelos, while Hager’s double-double against Uniao Sportiva showed her ability to impact the game on the glass and on the scoreboard.

CAB Madeira will seek a second straight win behind Ivanovic, Henriques and Goncalves. CDEFF will counter with Hager, Freitas and Gardner, aiming to protect home court and build on its opening victory. Both teams have shown early offensive balance, with multiple contributors scoring in double figures. The matchup could hinge on which team controls the boards and limits turnovers, though both squads enter with confidence after winning their first games.

CAB Madeira’s 81-71 win at Barcelos marked its first victory of the season. CDEFF’s 73-58 win at Uniao Sportiva also was its first victory. Both teams will try to add to that start Saturday.
