SCHIO, Italy (Interstat) — Maria Barneda scored seven points with one assist in 30 minutes as Schio defeated Reyer Venezia 70-64 on Sunday in an Italy A1 women’s basketball game. The victory lifted Schio’s record to 34-8, while Reyer Venezia fell to 32-13. The teams met for the third time in six days, with Schio winning the series opener 74-53 on Thursday before Reyer Venezia took the second game 71-60 on Monday. Schio shot a higher percentage from the floor and from three-point range, and also converted more free throws. The 5-foot-9 Barneda contributed off the bench in the pivotal contest. Reyer Venezia matched its 64-point total from a loss at Girona on April 15. Schio improved to 4-2 in the season series against its rival.
