TIMISOARA, Romania (Interstat) — Maria Alexe recorded a dominant double-double Tuesday night to lead Agronomia to an 86-44 victory over CSUP Timisoara in a women’s professional basketball game.

Alexe, a 5-foot-10 Swiss player, scored 21 points and grabbed 15 rebounds in 31 minutes, adding five assists. Irina Teodosiu added 20 points for Agronomia, which led wire-to-wire and swept the season series against its opponent.

The win improved Agronomia to 7-15 this season, while CSUP Timisoara fell to 2-20. Anastasia Semenciuc led the home side with 10 points. The outcome defied a pregame statistical projection that had favored CSUP Timisoara.
