MELBOURNE, Australia (Interstat) — Mount Gambier defeated Melbourne 95-77 in an Australia NBL One women’s professional basketball game Sunday, overcoming heavy odds as a statistical underdog. The visiting Mount Gambier improved to 2-0, while Melbourne fell to 0-1 in a result contrary to pregame projections. Interstat’s ELO system had given Melbourne an 88.6 percent probability to win.
