Lakeside vs. Willetton

WILLETTON, Australia (Interstat) — The Lakeside women’s basketball team visits Willetton on Friday, June 12, 2026, in an NBL1 West matchup that features two struggling sides looking to break out of losing streaks.

Lakeside (5-7) arrives having lost four of its past five games, most recently a 93-63 defeat at Mandurah on June 6. Willetton (3-8) has dropped three straight, including an 95-88 home loss to Goldfields on May 31. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. local time at Willetton Basketball Stadium.

The visiting squad leans heavily on guard Delanie Crawford, who has been a consistent contributor despite the team’s recent slide. In the loss to Mandurah, Crawford logged 31 minutes and posted 20 points, eight rebounds and four assists. She followed a 24-point, seven-rebound outing against Rockingham on May 30 and a 14-point, 11-rebound double-double in a win at Perth Redbacks on May 15. Over her past four games, Crawford has averaged 16.3 points and 9.3 rebounds per contest.

Willetton’s primary threat is forward Nija Collier, whose interior presence has been vital. In the loss to Goldfields, Collier played 31 minutes, scoring 10 points while grabbing 17 rebounds and dishing five assists. She also recorded a block. Collier’s production was limited in a 104-62 blowout loss at Joondalup City on May 22, where she managed five points and eight boards in 19 minutes.

Both teams have struggled defensively. Lakeside is allowing an average of 77.6 points per game over its past five outings, while Willetton has surrendered 97 or more points in four of its last five games. The home team’s offense has also been inconsistent, failing to reach 70 points in three of its past four contests.

Lakeside will aim to establish an inside-out game behind forward Samantha Lubcke, who recorded 13 rebounds in the Mandurah loss. Willetton counters with guards Emma Calvert and Emma Gandini, who combined for 34 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists against Goldfields.

This marks the first of two scheduled meetings between the sides this month. They will meet again June 26 at Lakeside. For Willetton, a win would move it within one game of .500 at home, where it is 2-3 this season. Lakeside is 2-4 on the road.
