STOCKTON, Calif. (Interstat) — The San Joaquin Delta women’s basketball team erased a large early deficit to defeat MiraCosta 76-71 on Sunday.

The visiting Spartans raced to a 29-11 lead after the first quarter, but the Mustangs steadily chipped away, taking their first lead during a dominant second half. Aaliyah Youngblood led all scorers with 20 points for San Joaquin Delta, while MiraCosta’s Kyla Palpallatoc scored 21. The Mustangs’ Fajr Cuthbertson added 19 points.

The win improved San Joaquin Delta’s record to 27-4. MiraCosta, which got a double-double of 19 points and 10 assists from Anayla Anderson, fell to 29-3.
