DESERT (Interstat) — The Desert women’s basketball team used a dominant second quarter to defeat San Bernardino Valley 75-61 on Saturday in a California Community College Athletic Association game.

The Roadrunners outscored the Wolverines 28-13 in the period, turning a narrow four-point lead after the first quarter into a 42-23 halftime advantage. San Bernardino Valley outscored Desert in both the second half and the fourth quarter but could not overcome the deficit.

With the win, Desert improved to 10-12 overall. San Bernardino Valley fell to 4-20. The Roadrunners have won both meetings between the teams this season.
