PHOENIX (Interstat) — UCLA used a dominant fourth quarter to overcome Texas 51-44 in an NCAA Division I women’s basketball playoff game Friday at Mortgage Matchup Center.

The Bruins, trailing by one entering the final period, outscored the Longhorns 20-16 down the stretch to seal the victory. Lauren Betts led UCLA with 16 points and three blocks. Kiki Rice added 11 points, including key free throws in the final minute.

Texas was paced by Kyla Oldacre’s 11 points. The Longhorns struggled offensively, managing just six points in the opening quarter and never fully recovering.

With the win, UCLA improved to 35-1 this season. Texas finished its season at 35-4. A crowd of 15,856 attended the game.
