Morehead State at Radford

FAIRLAWN, Va. (Interstat) — The Radford Highlanders, coming off their most successful regular season in recent years, will host the Morehead State Eagles in a nonconference women’s basketball matchup on Friday, March 20, 2026, at the D.N. Dedmon Center.

Radford (22-12) enters the contest with a potent offense, having averaged 78.5 points in its last five games. The Highlanders’ surge has been fueled by the stellar play of guard Joi Williams, who is averaging 22.4 points over that stretch. Williams exploded for 30 points in a narrow 71-67 loss at High Point on March 8 and scored 31 in an 86-67 win over Charleston Southern three days prior.

Morehead State (18-14) looks to rebound after closing its regular season with a 55-60 home loss to Southeast Missouri State on March 5. The Eagles have relied on balanced contributions, with guard Landon Forbes serving as a key facilitator. Forbes dished out 17 total assists in wins over Southern Indiana and Eastern Illinois in late February. In the loss to SEMO, Marie Sepp led the Eagles with 17 points.

The game presents a contrast in momentum. Radford won five of its last six before the High Point defeat, including dominant victories of 81-58 over Longwood and 95-54 over Presbyterian. Morehead State, meanwhile, has dropped three of its last four, with the lone win a 73-62 decision over Southern Indiana on Feb. 24.

Historically, the Dedmon Center has been a tough venue for visitors this season, with the Highlanders posting a strong home record. Radford’s offensive firepower, led by Williams, will test a Morehead State defense that allowed 74 points in a loss to Western Illinois last month.

For the Eagles to pull off the road upset, they will need to control the tempo and find consistent scoring beyond Sepp. Containing Williams will be the primary defensive challenge for Morehead State as both teams look to build momentum ahead of potential postseason play.

Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. EDT.
