CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Interstat) — The Eastern Kentucky Lady Colonels overcame a slow start to beat the Queens (NC) Royals 74-59 in an ASUN women’s basketball game Friday at Levine Center. Queens led 23-14 after the first quarter but was outscored 60-36 the rest of the way. The second-quarter surge proved decisive as Eastern Kentucky held the Royals to just five points in the period. The victory improved Eastern Kentucky’s record to 19-4, while Queens fell to 8-13. An announced crowd of 131 attended the conference matchup.
