Coastal Carolina at Bowling Green
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (Interstat) — Two teams seeking momentum for a late-season push will meet Saturday when the Bowling Green Falcons host the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers in a nonconference women’s basketball matchup at the Stroh Center.
Both teams enter with identical 11-win overall records. Bowling Green (11-11) looks to snap a two-game skid following a 73-64 road loss at Kent State on Wednesday. Coastal Carolina (11-13) aims to rebound from its own Wednesday defeat, a 70-78 setback at Arkansas State.
The game features a compelling matchup between two high-scoring guards. Coastal Carolina’s Tessa Grady has been on a prolific scoring run, averaging 20.0 points over her last seven games. The junior is coming off a 24-point performance in 37 minutes against Arkansas State and has topped 20 points in four of those contests.
Bowling Green will counter with senior Johnea Donahue, a consistent offensive catalyst. Donahue averages 12.1 points per game and is coming off a 15-point, 3-assist effort at Kent State. She scored a season-high 21 points in a win over Akron on Jan. 28 and leads the Falcons in minutes played.
The Chanticleers have shown a potent offense, scoring 80 or more points in three of their last ten games, including a 103-point outburst against Columbia in December. However, defensive consistency has been an issue, as they have allowed 78 points or more in three of their last four losses.
Bowling Green has struggled offensively during its recent slide, failing to reach 65 points in three consecutive games. The Falcons will rely on their home-court advantage, where they are 7-4 this season, to ignite their attack.
This marks the first meeting between the programs. For Coastal Carolina, it is a final nonconference tune-up before resuming Sun Belt Conference play next week. Bowling Green sees it as a critical opportunity to steady itself before continuing Mid-American Conference action against Buffalo on Tuesday.
Tip-off is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026.
