Davidson vs. Baylor

KISSIMMEE, Fla. (Interstat) — The Baylor Lady Bears look to rebound from their first loss of the season when they face the Davidson Wildcats in a non-conference women’s basketball game Saturday at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.

Baylor (4-1) enters the contest following a 57-52 home loss to the Iowa Hawkeyes on Thursday. Taliah Scott led the Lady Bears in that defeat, scoring 32 points.

Davidson (3-2) also seeks a bounce-back performance after falling 66-58 on the road to Miami (Fla.) on Thursday. Charlise Dunn paced the Wildcats with 14 points in the loss.

The Wildcats have shown a pattern of strong defensive performances in their wins, holding three opponents to 55 points or fewer. Their two losses have come against power-conference opponents, Miami and Mississippi State.

Baylor’s defense has also been a key factor in its 4-1 start, with the lone blemish a tight game against a ranked Iowa team. The Lady Bears’ schedule has been a mix of dominant home victories and a tough road win at UNLV.

This matchup at the neutral-site complex in Florida presents a test for both squads as they continue to build their non-conference resumes. Baylor will look to its high-scoring guard Scott to ignite the offense, while Davidson will rely on a balanced attack led by Dunn and Ines Garcia Monje to challenge the Lady Bears.
