FAIRFAX, Va. (Interstat) — The George Mason Patriots look to build on a decisive road victory when they host the struggling Florida A&M Lady Rattlers in a non-conference women’s basketball game Monday at EagleBank Arena.

George Mason (1-1) is coming off a 72-57 win at James Madison on Thursday. Zahirah Walton led the way with 22 points and seven rebounds, while Kennedy Harris added 13 points. The Patriots opened their season with an 85-94 overtime loss at Temple.

Florida A&M (0-2) seeks its first win after a challenging start. The Lady Rattlers fell 89-53 at Howard on Saturday, a game in which one player scored 16 points. They opened the season with a 112-39 loss at Florida State.

The matchup pits George Mason’s balanced scoring attack against a Florida A&M team that has struggled offensively in its first two contests. The Patriots will aim to protect their home court before a quick turnaround against Georgetown on Friday.

For the Lady Rattlers, the game is the third in a string of difficult road tests to begin the season before they host Jacksonville on Dec. 2.
