Albany at Massachusetts-Lowell
LOWELL, Mass. (Interstat) — The Albany Great Danes visit the Massachusetts-Lowell River Hawks in an America East women’s basketball matchup on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026, at Costello Athletic Center.
Albany (12-11) enters looking to snap a two-game skid after a 50-44 home loss to Bryant on Thursday. The Great Danes have struggled offensively during conference play, failing to reach 55 points in four of their last five games. They will rely on forward Martina Borrellas, who is averaging 11.4 points and 5.6 rebounds per game in America East contests. Borrellas posted 17 points and nine rebounds in the first meeting with UMass Lowell this season.
The River Hawks (6-17) are mired in a nine-game losing streak, most recently falling 69-60 to NJIT on Thursday. Guard Jaini Edmonds has been a bright spot, scoring 20 or more points in two of her last four outings. She leads the team with 21 points and six assists in the loss to NJIT.
The Great Danes won the season’s first meeting 74-62 at home on Jan. 3. Albany has dominated the recent series, winning the last five matchups.
For Albany, consistency on offense is the primary concern. Beyond Borrellas, contributions from guards Lara Langermann and Delanie Hill will be key. UMass Lowell, which allows a conference-worst 73.2 points per game in league play, must find defensive answers to slow Albany’s attack and generate transition opportunities for Edmonds.
The game tips off at 1 p.m. EST. Albany hosts Binghamton next on Feb. 14, while UMass Lowell travels to face New Hampshire on Feb. 19.
