SANTA CLARA, Calif. (Interstat) — The Santa Clara Broncos held off the Gonzaga Bulldogs 77-73 in a West Coast Conference women’s basketball game Sunday at Leavey Center.

Santa Clara led 39-34 at halftime and maintained a narrow advantage throughout the second half. Gonzaga’s Lauren Whittaker posted a double-double with 21 points and 13 rebounds. Santa Clara countered with balanced scoring as Sophie Glancey scored 17 points, Kylee Fox added 17 and Ashley Hawkins finished with 16 points and 11 assists.

The Broncos improved to 13-4 overall. The Bulldogs fell to 11-6. Attendance was 376.
