RICHMOND, Va. (Interstat) — The Richmond Spiders delivered a commanding 92-58 victory over the La Salle Explorers in an Atlantic 10 women’s basketball game Sunday at Robins Center.

Richmond seized control with a 28-point second quarter, turning a narrow five-point lead after the first into a 44-33 halftime advantage. The Spiders then pulled away, outscoring La Salle 48-25 in the second half before an announced crowd of 2,268.

Richmond, which improved to 23-6, capitalized on turnovers, scoring 24 points off La Salle miscues. The Explorers, who fell to 15-12, managed just 14 points off turnovers. Richmond also held a 36-28 edge in points in the paint.

The Spiders’ next game is Wednesday against Rhode Island. La Salle visits VCU on Wednesday.
