Kentucky at Louisville
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Interstat) — An undefeated Kentucky women’s basketball team will put its perfect record on the line Saturday in a rivalry showdown against Louisville at KFC Yum! Center.
The Wildcats (6-0) have dominated their early-season schedule, winning each game by an average of 35.8 points. They are coming off a commanding 76-35 victory over Purdue on Tuesday, led by strong performances from Clara Strack and Jordan Obi, who each scored 17 points.
Louisville (4-1) has been nearly as impressive, with its only loss coming against then-Connecticut, 79-66, on Nov. 4. The Cardinals are riding a three-game winning streak, including a 96-49 rout of Morehead State on Wednesday where freshman Imari Berry and Reagan Bender each tallied 13 points.
The intrastate rivalry adds a layer of intensity to the nonconference matchup. Kentucky’s stifling defense, which has held opponents to an average of 45.3 points per game, will be tested by a balanced Louisville offense that features four players averaging double figures.
The game tips off at 2 p.m. EST and will be televised on the ACC Network.
