HALDEMAN, Ky. (Interstat) — Morehead State used a dominant first half to secure a 78-64 win over South Carolina Upstate in a non-conference women’s basketball game Saturday at E.T. Johnson Arena.

The Eagles built a 51-30 halftime lead, powered by a 25-point first quarter, and held off the Spartans the rest of the way. Cassie Gallagher led all scorers with 35 points for South Carolina Upstate. Morehead State was led by Laura Toffali’s 20 points and Marie Sepp’s 10 assists.

With the win, Morehead State improved to 2-3 on the season, while South Carolina Upstate fell to 2-5.
