Arizona State at Texas Tech

Arizona State Sun Devils (22-8) at Texas Tech Lady Raiders (24-6)

LUBBOCK, Texas (Interstat) — A pivotal late-season Big 12 women’s basketball clash is set for Sunday at United Spirit Arena as the Texas Tech Lady Raiders host the Arizona State Sun Devils.

Both teams enter March looking to solidify their NCAA tournament seeding, but arrive with contrasting momentum. Texas Tech (24-6, 12-5 Big 12), despite its strong overall record, has dropped three of its last five, including a 68-59 loss at Kansas on Wednesday. The Lady Raiders will aim to rediscover their dominant home form, where they are 14-1 this season, highlighted by an 87-56 rout of Baylor on Feb. 18.

Arizona State (22-8, 10-7) has also stumbled recently, losing two of three, including a 66-61 home defeat to BYU in its last outing. The Sun Devils have shown resilience on the road, however, with an overtime win at Arizona this month.

The matchup features two standout performers. Arizona State will lean on guard Heloisa Carrera, who is coming off a 14-point effort against BYU and has shown high-scoring capability, dropping 23 points in a win over Houston on Feb. 21. Her consistency will be key for the Sun Devils’ offense.

For Texas Tech, forward Sarengbe Sanogo provides a major interior presence. She recorded 16 points and a remarkable five blocks in the loss at Kansas, underscoring her two-way impact. Her ability to protect the rim will be crucial against a Sun Devils team that can struggle offensively.

According to Interstat’s ELO system, Texas Tech is projected with an 81.3% probability to win. The Lady Raiders have been installed as a 9.5-point favorite, with the over/under set at 127.5 points.

The game tips off at 2 p.m. CST Sunday. A Texas Tech victory would bolster its case for a top-four seed in the NCAA tournament, while Arizona State seeks a resume-building road win to enhance its postseason positioning.
