Nevada at Fresno State
FRESNO, Calif. (Interstat) — A Mountain West women’s basketball rematch is set for Saturday at Save Mart Center as the Fresno State Bulldogs host the Nevada Wolf Pack, looking to complete a regular-season sweep.
The Bulldogs (10-13) defeated the Wolf Pack (7-15) 54-44 in Reno on Jan. 17, a game where Fresno State’s Emilia Long scored 22 points. Long enters this contest fresh off a 19-point, 4-assist performance in a dominant 79-50 road win over San Jose State on Wednesday. The guard has been a consistent offensive catalyst, scoring 17 or more points in three of her last six outings.
Nevada, meanwhile, seeks to end a six-game losing streak that began with that Jan. 17 loss to Fresno State. The Wolf Pack are coming off a 70-61 home loss to Boise State on Wednesday, despite a standout 20-point, 8-rebound effort from forward Skylar Durley. Durley has been Nevada’s most reliable scorer during the skid, averaging 12.4 points per game over her last seven contests, including a 15-point game in the team’s most recent win on Jan. 10.
Both teams have struggled for consistency in conference play. Fresno State’s blowout win over San Jose State was a bright spot in a stretch that saw them lose four of their previous five. Nevada’s defense, which held Utah State to 40 points in a Jan. 3 win, has faltered lately, allowing an average of 64.2 points during its current losing streak.
The matchup hinges on which team’s top performer can impose their will. Long’s scoring versatility will test Nevada’s perimeter defense, while Durley’s inside presence will challenge a Fresno State frontcourt that held her to 7 points in the first meeting. Bulldogs guard Danae Powell, who added 11 points and 4 assists Wednesday, provides a secondary scoring threat.
A Fresno State victory would secure a valuable conference sweep and momentum before hosting Boise State next week. For Nevada, a win on the road would provide a crucial break from its recent frustrations and build confidence for a homestand against Air Force and San Diego State.
Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. PST on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026.
