UCF at Oklahoma State
STILLWATER, Okla. (Interstat) — The Oklahoma State Cowgirls, riding high in the Big 12 standings, will look to bounce back from a rare loss when they host the struggling UCF Knights on Saturday at Gallagher-Iba Arena.
Oklahoma State (18-6) enters the contest after a 74-69 road loss at Arizona State on Wednesday snapped a three-game winning streak. The Cowgirls have been strong at home this season, boasting a conference record that places them among the league’s upper tier. Guard Jadyn Wooten has been a catalyst, averaging 12.3 points and 4.6 assists over her last seven games, including a 16-point, 4-assist performance in the loss to the Sun Devils.
UCF (10-12) seeks to halt a four-game skid, most recently a 67-57 home loss to Utah on Wednesday. The Knights have found wins hard to come by in a tough Big 12 schedule. They will lean on forward Mahogany Chandler-Roberts, who has been a consistent bright spot. She is coming off a 39-minute, 13-point effort against Utah and has scored in double figures in four of her last five outings, including a 17-point game against TCU on Jan. 24.
The matchup pits one of the conference’s top teams against one seeking an upset to regain momentum. Oklahoma State’s balanced offense, which saw Achol Akot score 18 points in the midweek loss, will test a UCF defense that has allowed an average of 66.3 points during its current losing streak.
For UCF, containing Wooten’s playmaking and finding supplemental scoring beyond Chandler-Roberts and Summer Yancy (12 points vs. Utah) will be critical. The Knights have not won since a 74-68 victory over Colorado on Jan. 18.
Saturday’s game tips off a key stretch for both teams. Oklahoma State visits Kansas State next Tuesday, while UCF travels to West Virginia on Wednesday.
Tipoff is set for Saturday afternoon in Stillwater.
