Preview: Saint Louis Billikens at George Washington Revolutionaries

WASHINGTON (Interstat) — Two teams seeking consistency in the middle of the Atlantic 10 Conference schedule will meet Wednesday when the Saint Louis Billikens visit the George Washington Revolutionaries.

Both teams enter the contest with identical 11-11 overall records, highlighting the parity in the matchup. The game will tip off at the Charles E. Smith Center.

Saint Louis looks to rebound from a 74-59 home loss to Loyola Chicago on Saturday. The Billikens had won three of their previous four games before that defeat, including a key overtime victory at Fordham on Jan. 21.

The Billikens are led by forward Alyssa Koerkenmeier, who has been a dominant force. She is coming off a 21-point, three-block performance against Loyola Chicago and has recorded four double-doubles in her last nine games, including a 12-point, 11-rebound, six-block effort in a win over Dayton on Jan. 18. Her defensive presence, averaging multiple blocks per game in recent weeks, will be a focal point.

George Washington arrives with momentum after a 58-47 home victory over Fordham on Saturday, which snapped a three-game losing streak. Guard Gabby Reynolds led the way with 14 points in that win and has been a steady scorer, reaching double figures in five of her last nine contests.

The Revolutionaries will need to solve their offensive struggles, as they have failed to reach 60 points in five of their last eight games. Their defense, however, has kept them competitive, holding opponents under 55 points in three of their last five outings.

This matchup begins a critical stretch for both squads as they jockey for position in the A-10 standings. Saint Louis will need secondary scoring behind Koerkenmeier, as only Alexia Nelson (18 points) joined her in double figures in the loss to Loyola Chicago. George Washington will counter by looking to Reynolds and seeking more offensive production from its supporting cast.
