LUBBOCK, Texas (Interstat) — Texas Tech remained undefeated Tuesday night, defeating Houston 71-59 in a Big 12 women’s basketball game at United Spirit Arena.

The Lady Raiders improved to 19-0 overall by controlling the middle quarters, outscoring the Cougars 41-37 in the second and third periods after leading 16-9 through one quarter. Houston, which fell to 6-11, could not overcome the early deficit despite a 21-point second quarter.

A crowd of 5,003 watched the home team maintain its perfect season. Texas Tech had been a heavy pregame favorite, and the combined 130 points fell under the projected total. The Lady Raiders will host Kansas State on Saturday, while Houston will host Utah.
