Columbia at Butler

INDIANAPOLIS (Interstat) — The Butler Bulldogs will look to build on a season-opening victory when they host the Columbia Lions in a nonconference women’s basketball matchup on Friday at Hinkle Fieldhouse.

Butler (1-0) began its season with a decisive 74-53 win over Wright State on Monday. The Bulldogs’ offense found its rhythm early and never looked back, providing momentum heading into their home opener.

Columbia (0-0) tips off its 2025-26 campaign after concluding last season with a 78-59 loss to West Virginia in the NCAA tournament on March 22. The Lions will rely on returning production from their final outing, where Lily Zeinstra scored 14 points, Saniya Jackson added 12 and Nevaeh Jackson contributed 13 points and two blocks.

The game marks the start of a challenging early schedule for Columbia, which plays at Ohio on Sunday. Butler continues a season-opening homestand and will host Central Michigan on Nov. 12.

Friday’s contest is scheduled for a 7 p.m. ET tipoff.
