WEST POINT, N.Y. (Interstat) — The Army women’s basketball team used a dominant third quarter to defeat Holy Cross 61-46 in a Patriot League game Wednesday night at Christl Arena.

The Black Knights, improving to 13-3, broke open a tight contest by outscoring the Crusaders 23-14 in the third period after leading 27-20 at halftime. Army’s defense held Holy Cross to just eight points in the second quarter.

The loss drops Holy Cross to 9-7 on the season. The Crusaders were led by a balanced scoring effort but could not sustain an early offensive rhythm against the conference front-runner.
