Florida Atlantic at South Alabama
MOBILE, Ala. (Interstat) — The South Alabama women’s basketball team, coming off a dominant victory, will host Florida Atlantic on Thursday night at the Mitchell Center.
The Jaguars (3-1) are looking to build on the momentum from their 83-46 rout of North Florida last Friday. In that game, South Alabama showcased a balanced attack with three players scoring in double figures, led by Cordasia Harris’ 10 points, nine rebounds and three blocks. Diawna Carter-Hartley added a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Florida Atlantic (2-1) arrives in Mobile after a tough 79-47 road loss to Miami (Fla.) on Nov. 13. Grace Carstensen led the Owls with 14 points in that contest. FAU’s season began with promise, including a narrow 69-68 win at Kennesaw State and a blowout 89-46 victory over Fla. Memorial.
The Jaguars’ only blemish this season is a 76-68 home loss to Memphis. They have otherwise been impressive, including a 91-68 road win at UAB.
Thursday’s non-conference matchup tips off a busy stretch for both teams. South Alabama will host Kennesaw State next Tuesday, while Florida Atlantic prepares for a visit from in-state rival Florida on Nov. 24.
