Davidson vs. Miami (Fla.)
ORLANDO, Fla. (Interstat) — The undefeated Miami (Fla.) Hurricanes will put their perfect record on the line against the Davidson Wildcats in a non-conference women’s basketball matchup Thursday at Downtown Rec Complex.
Miami (3-0) has dominated its early schedule, winning each game by at least 31 points. In their most recent outing, a 79-47 victory over Florida Atlantic on Nov. 13, the Hurricanes saw balanced scoring with Amarachi Kimpson leading the way with 14 points and Ra Shaya Kyle adding 13.
Davidson (3-1) arrives with momentum after a 74-55 road win at Appalachian State on Nov. 12. Charlise Dunn was a force in that game, just missing a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds. Emilie Bessell poured in a team-high 19 points. The Wildcats’ only loss this season came on the road against Mississippi State, 66-57, on Nov. 3.
The game is part of a multi-team event for both squads. Miami will face Iowa on Saturday, also in Orlando, while Davidson is set to play Baylor the same day at the same venue.
Thursday’s contest will be the first meeting between the programs.
