Portland State at Colorado

BOULDER, Colo. (Interstat) — The Portland State Vikings and Colorado Buffaloes, both sitting at 1-1, will look to build early-season momentum when they meet in a nonconference women’s basketball game Sunday at the Coors Events Center.

Portland State is coming off a dominant 89-52 home victory over Willamette on Tuesday. The Vikings’ offense was powered by Kyleigh Brown, who scored 24 points, and Ajae Yoakum, who added 20. Their season opened with a 74-63 loss at Hawaii.

Colorado enters the contest following a narrow 68-74 road loss to a tough Louisville squad on Wednesday. In that game, Zyanna Walker led the Buffaloes with 19 points and seven rebounds, while Anaëlle Dutat recorded a double-double with 13 points and 11 boards. The Buffaloes began their season with an 84-59 rout of New Mexico.

The matchup will be a test of Portland State’s high-scoring attack against a Colorado team that has shown its mettle against a major conference opponent. Both teams have a quick turnaround, with Portland State traveling to face Air Force and Colorado hosting Boise State on Tuesday.
