Holy Cross at Marist

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (Interstat) — The Holy Cross Crusaders will look to continue their winning momentum when they visit the struggling Marist Red Foxes in a non-conference women’s basketball game Sunday at McCann Recreation Center.

Holy Cross (2-1) enters the contest following a narrow 65-64 home victory over Brown on Wednesday. Simone Foreman recorded a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Meg Cahalan led all scorers with 23 points in the win. The Crusaders’ other result was a season-opening 72-71 road win against Boston College before a 91-48 loss at Duke.

Marist (0-3) is still seeking its first win of the season after a 66-56 home loss to Bryant on Tuesday. Justine Henry posted 20 points and 11 rebounds in that contest, and Karly Fischer added 20 points. The Red Foxes have lost their three games by an average of 15.3 points, including a 74-46 defeat at Albany.

The game will be the final home contest for Marist before a four-game stretch away from Poughkeepsie. Holy Cross will travel to Rhode Island for its next game on Wednesday.
