Vanderbilt’s Hot Start Buries Oklahoma in SEC Women’s Basketball Showdown
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Interstat) — Mikayla Blakes scored 34 points and Aubrey Galvan added 30 as Vanderbilt never trailed in a 102-86 women’s basketball victory over Oklahoma on Monday night at Memorial Gymnasium.
The Commodores, now 23-2, seized control with a 31-point first quarter and led by 19 at halftime. The Sooners, who fell to 17-6, shot just 2 for 24 from 3-point range and committed 22 turnovers. Vanderbilt capitalized with 11 3-pointers and a 25-for-31 performance at the free-throw line.
Raegan Beers led Oklahoma with 19 points. Vanderbilt’s decisive early run and efficient offense proved too much for the Sooners to overcome in the Southeastern Conference matchup.
