Cal State Fullerton at Cal State Bakersfield
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (Interstat) — A surging Cal State Fullerton squad will look to continue its climb in the Big West standings when it visits a struggling Cal State Bakersfield team on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026.
The Titans (12-9, 5-3 Big West) have won five of their last six games, most recently a 62-60 home victory over UC Santa Barbara on Jan. 31. The Roadrunners (7-14, 2-6), meanwhile, have dropped four of their last five, including a 76-68 loss at UC Davis last Saturday.
The matchup at the Icardo Center will feature two of the conference’s top offensive talents. Fullerton is powered by guard Kya Pearson, who is averaging 15.3 points and 5.3 assists over her last six contests. She scored 19 points and dished five assists in the win over UCSB.
Bakersfield will counter with guard Marley Langi, who is coming off a career-high 29-point performance in the loss to UC Davis. Langi has scored in double figures in four of her last five outings, providing a consistent spark for a Roadrunners’ offense that has struggled at times this season.
Fullerton’s recent success has been a team effort. In the win over the Gauchos, Cristina Jones added 13 points and nine rebounds, while Maddy Tauro contributed 14 points and six boards. The Titans’ current run includes a dominant 73-41 win over Cal Poly and an 84-66 road victory at Long Beach State.
The Roadrunners have shown flashes, notably a 75-48 rout of Long Beach State on Jan. 10 and a road win at Cal Poly on Jan. 29. Consistency has been elusive, however, as they have conceded 76 or more points in four of their six conference losses.
Saturday’s game is the first of a home-and-home series between the teams this month; they will meet again at Fullerton on Feb. 21. The Titans currently sit in a tie for third place in the conference, while the Roadrunners are tied for ninth.
Tip-off is set for 4 p.m. PST at the Icardo Center.
