RICHMOND, Ky. (Interstat) — Joseana Vaz scored a game-high 33 points to lead Eastern Kentucky to a 67-60 women’s basketball victory over Austin Peay on Saturday at McBrayer Arena.

The Lady Colonels improved to 21-4 overall, while the Governors fell to 13-9. Eastern Kentucky built a 32-27 halftime lead and maintained control despite a 23-point fourth quarter from Austin Peay. Vaz added six rebounds for Eastern Kentucky. Anovia Sheals led Austin Peay with 17 points and seven rebounds. Jim’Miyah Branton added 13 points, seven rebounds and eight assists for the Governors.

Eastern Kentucky capitalized on Austin Peay’s 18 turnovers, scoring 25 points off them. Both teams shot 24 field goals, but the Lady Colonels attempted 15 more free throws, making 13.
