Cornell Stuns Penn in Ivy League Women’s Basketball Upset
PHILADELPHIA (Interstat) — Cornell snapped a three-game skid with a 62-58 upset of Penn in an Ivy League women’s basketball game Friday night at The Palestra. The Big Red, projected by analytics to have less than a 6% chance to win, built an early lead and held off a late Quakers rally.
Cornell led by seven after a 21-point first quarter and maintained a 38-31 halftime advantage. Penn closed within four points entering the final period, but Cornell secured the road victory. The loss dropped Penn to 12-7 overall, while Cornell improved to 8-11. The teams will meet again in Ithaca on Feb. 13.
