TOLEDO, Ohio (Interstat) — Toledo used a decisive third-quarter run to overtake Kent State and secure a 59-53 women’s basketball victory Wednesday night at Savage Hall. The Rockets outscored the Golden Flashes 21-13 in the period, erasing a halftime deficit before 3,920 fans.

Ella Weaver led Toledo with 18 points. Kendall Carruthers added 14. Anna Campanelli paced Kent State with 12 points and Riley Rismiller contributed 13.

Kent State led 28-20 at halftime but shot just 2 of 10 from 3-point range. Toledo improved to 10-8 overall, while Kent State fell to 9-11. Both teams are in the Mid-American Conference.
