Kent State at Toledo
Preview: Kent State at Toledo in Mid-American Conference Women’s Basketball
TOLEDO, Ohio (Interstat) — Two teams riding winning streaks will meet Wednesday when the Toledo Rockets host the Kent State Golden Flashes in a Mid-American Conference women’s basketball matchup at Savage Hall.
Both teams enter with 9-8 overall records and momentum from weekend road victories. Toledo defeated Ohio 75-66 on Saturday, while Kent State earned an 84-74 win at Buffalo.
The game features a compelling matchup between two of the conference’s top performers. Kent State (9-10, 4-2 MAC) is powered by guard Mya Babbitt, who is averaging 21.1 points per game in her last seven contests. She scored 23 points with seven rebounds in the win at Buffalo.
Toledo (9-8, 3-3 MAC) counters with versatile forward Faith Fedd-Robinson, who is coming off a 16-point, 8-rebound, 6-assist performance against Ohio. Over her last four games, she is averaging 15.0 points, 6.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists.
Kent State has won four of its last five games after a slow start, finding its rhythm in conference play. Toledo has alternated wins and losses in its last six outings but has been strong at home, winning three of its four MAC games at Savage Hall this season.
The Rockets will look to contain Babbitt and a Kent State offense that has averaged 78.2 points during its recent surge. Toledo’s defense has held opponents to 59.2 points per game in its three conference wins.
Wednesday’s contest is the only scheduled meeting between the teams this regular season. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. EST.
