ATHENS, Ohio (Interstat) — Massachusetts used a dominant third quarter to secure an 85-76 women’s basketball victory over Ohio on Wednesday night at the Convocation Center.

The Minutemen, who trailed by five after the first quarter, outscored the Bobcats 26-20 in the third period to take control. Yahmani McKayle led Massachusetts with 25 points and six assists, while Megan Olbrys added 24 points. Gigi Bower paced Ohio with 17 points.

Massachusetts (15-4) capitalized on Ohio’s 21 turnovers, scoring 22 points off them, and dominated inside with 52 points in the paint. Ohio (12-7) stayed close by hitting 13 3-pointers but shot just 27 of 60 overall. The announced attendance was 692.
