LEWISBURG, Pa. (Interstat) — Bucknell defeated Loyola Maryland 54-45 in a Patriot League women’s basketball game Saturday at Sojka Pavilion.

The Bison built a 22-10 halftime lead as the visiting Greyhounds managed just five points in each of the first two quarters. Loyola Maryland found its offense after halftime, outscoring Bucknell 23-20 in the fourth quarter, but the early deficit proved too large to overcome.

Elena Houghton led Bucknell with eight points, eight rebounds and eight assists. Reese Zemitis scored a game-high 15 points. For Loyola Maryland, Cristina Garcia had nine points.

Bucknell improved to 5-13 overall. Loyola Maryland fell to 8-11.
