Jacksonville at Eastern Kentucky
RICHMOND, Ky. (Interstat) — A surging Eastern Kentucky squad looks to continue its dominance in ASUN Conference play when it hosts a Jacksonville team featuring one of the nation’s hottest scorers on Thursday night.
The Lady Colonels (15-4, 5-0 ASUN) enter the women’s basketball matchup at McBrayer Arena riding a nine-game winning streak, their longest in over a decade. Eastern Kentucky has been formidable at home, winning eight of its last nine in Richmond, including a 90-46 rout of Bellarmine last Saturday. Ndidiamaka Ndukwe has been a force, averaging 18.4 points over her last seven games. She scored 23 points in 27 minutes against Bellarmine.
They will face a stern test from Jacksonville guard Priscilla Williams, who is coming off a historic stretch. The Dolphins’ standout poured in 44 points in a Jan. 15 overtime win over Central Arkansas and followed it with 25 points in a narrow 83-79 loss to North Alabama last Saturday. Over her last three games, Williams is averaging 28.0 points.
Jacksonville (10-6, 3-2) has shown a potent offense, scoring 91 points or more in three of its last six contests. However, consistency has been an issue, with the Dolphins alternating wins and losses over their past six games. Their defense will be challenged by an Eastern Kentucky team averaging 77.2 points per game during its winning streak.
The Lady Colonels have excelled in conference play, winning their five ASUN games by an average of 22.6 points. Their last loss was a 76-51 defeat at Louisville on Dec. 17. Jacksonville’s recent struggles include a 40-point output in a December loss at Texas Tech, highlighting occasional offensive droughts.
Historically, Eastern Kentucky has controlled the series, winning six of the last seven meetings. The teams last met in the 2025 ASUN tournament quarterfinals, an 81-58 victory for the Lady Colonels.
Thursday’s contest features a clash of styles: Jacksonville’s high-scoring guard play against Eastern Kentucky’s balanced and dominant conference form. The outcome could hinge on whether the Lady Colonels’ defense can contain Williams and if the Dolphins can find scoring support to match Eastern Kentucky’s depth.
