Texas Christian at West Virginia

STAR CITY, W.Va. (Interstat) — A marquee Big 12 women’s basketball showdown is set for Wednesday night as the No. 4-ranked Texas Christian Lady Frogs visit the West Virginia Mountaineers at WVU Coliseum.

The matchup features two of the nation’s top teams and a premier duel at point guard. TCU (16-1, 5-1 Big 12), whose only loss came in overtime at Utah on Jan. 3, brings a potent offense averaging 78.2 points per game. They are led by Olivia Miles, who is averaging 23.2 points and 7.5 assists over her last six games. Miles scored 31 points in the loss to Utah and is coming off a 22-point, 6-assist performance in a 77-46 rout of Arizona State on Sunday.

West Virginia (14-3, 4-2) counters with its own floor general in Jordan Harrison. The Mountaineers’ leader is averaging 12.8 points and 6.2 assists, including a 19-point, 8-assist effort in an 83-70 road win at Iowa State last Sunday. West Virginia’s defense, allowing just 58.2 points per game, will face its stiffest conference test yet.

The Mountaineers have been strong at home, with their only loss in Morgantown a 71-66 setback to Texas Tech on Jan. 7. TCU has dominated its road schedule aside from the Utah overtime defeat.

This game is the first of a critical home-and-home series between the contenders, with the rematch scheduled for Feb. 15 in Fort Worth. The outcome will significantly impact the early Big 12 standings, with TCU looking to keep pace atop the conference and West Virginia aiming to solidify its top-tier status.

Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
