Towson at Delaware

NEWARK, Del. (Interstat) — The Towson Tigers look to rebound from a lopsided loss when they visit the Delaware Blue Hens in a nonconference women’s basketball game Sunday.

Towson (4-3) is coming off a 94-67 defeat at Georgetown on Wednesday. India Johnston led the Tigers with 17 points in the loss. The Tigers have shown resilience this season, responding to their two other double-digit losses with convincing victories.

Delaware (3-2) enters on a two-game winning streak, including a 67-55 road victory at Loyola Maryland on Wednesday. Ande’a Cherisier paced the Blue Hens with 17 points and six rebounds, while Lay Fantroy added 12 points and nine rebounds.

The game at the Bob Carpenter Center features two teams navigating early-season schedules. Towson’s offense has been potent in wins, scoring over 70 points in three of its four victories, but has been held under 60 in its three losses. Delaware’s defense has been key, holding opponents to 68 points or less in all three of its wins.

This matchup is the final scheduled nonconference game for both teams before they turn their attention to league play in the new year.
