Saint Thomas (Minn.) at Denver

DENVER (Interstat) — Two Summit League teams seeking momentum will meet Saturday when the Denver Pioneers host the Saint Thomas Tommies in a women’s NCAA Division I basketball game at Magness Arena.

The matchup features teams with nearly identical records. Saint Thomas (Minn.) enters at 10-12 overall, while Denver sits at 9-13. Both squads are looking to rebound from recent losses in conference play.

The Tommies are coming off a difficult 84-51 home loss to South Dakota State on Wednesday. Denver fell 73-72 at North Dakota in its last outing on Jan. 31, a nail-biter decided in the final moments.

A key storyline is the season’s first meeting between the teams, an overtime thriller on Jan. 8 in St. Paul, Minnesota. The Tommies emerged with a 74-65 victory in that contest, providing a potential psychological edge heading into the rematch.

A player to watch for Saint Thomas is Alyssa Sand, who has been a consistent performer. She is coming off a 12-point effort against South Dakota State and recorded a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds in a win over North Dakota on Jan. 24.

Denver will counter with Jocelyn Medina, who is capable of explosive performances. She nearly willed the Pioneers to victory at North Dakota, scoring 23 points and grabbing six rebounds. Earlier in January, she posted a triple-double threat with 16 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists in a win over Oral Roberts.

The game will be a test of resilience for both programs as they navigate the second half of the conference schedule. Tipoff is set for Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026, in Denver.
