STONY BROOK, N.Y. (Interstat) — The Stony Brook women’s basketball team defeated Northeastern 64-55 on Friday night at Island Federal Credit Union Arena.

The Seawolves built a commanding 36-17 halftime lead before the Huskies surged with a 26-point third quarter to close the gap. Stony Brook steadied itself in the final period to secure the win. The Seawolves improved to 13-10 overall, while Northeastern fell to 6-14.

Stony Brook capitalized on free throws, making 13 of 17, and hit seven 3-pointers. Northeastern struggled offensively, shooting 38% from the floor and committing 15 turnovers. A crowd of 630 attended the game.
