Wright State at Green Bay

Preview: Struggling Wright State Faces Horizon League Power Green Bay

ASHAWAUBENON, Wis. (Interstat) — The Green Bay Phoenix, riding an eight-game winning streak and sitting atop the Horizon League, will host the struggling Wright State Raiders in a women’s basketball matchup on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2026, at the Resch Center.

The Phoenix (17-5 overall) have been dominant in conference play and enter as heavy favorites against a Raiders squad mired in a six-game losing skid. Green Bay’s last loss came on Dec. 20 at Miami (Ohio). Since then, they have averaged 70.1 points per game during their streak while holding opponents to just 58.6.

Guard Maddy Skorupski has been the engine for Green Bay. Over her last eight games, she has averaged 14.4 points and 5.4 assists, including a 22-point, 5-rebound performance in a 72-61 win over Detroit on Jan. 24. Jenna Guyer added a double-double in that contest with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Wright State (6-15) has found consistent results hard to come by. The Raiders’ last win was an 82-71 victory over Detroit on Jan. 2. They are coming off a 74-53 home loss to Robert Morris on Saturday, where Lauren Scott led the team with 15 points.

A player to watch for the Raiders is Grace Okih, who posted 9 points and 6 rebounds in 18 minutes against Robert Morris. Her production, however, has been variable during the losing streak.

The teams last met on Dec. 30, 2025, in Dayton, Ohio, where Green Bay delivered a decisive 89-55 victory. The Phoenix shot 54% from the field in that game while forcing 21 Wright State turnovers.

The matchup pits the Horizon League’s best defense, Green Bay, which allows just 59.2 points per game, against a Wright State offense averaging 62.7 points and coming off a 53-point outing.

With a win, Green Bay would solidify its conference standing as it looks ahead to a road test at Robert Morris on Feb. 5. Wright State, seeking to stop its slide, will continue its road trip at Milwaukee on Jan. 31.

Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. local time.
