NACOGDOCHES, Texas (Interstat) — McNeese State edged Stephen F. Austin 70-64 in overtime Thursday night in a women’s NCAA Division I basketball game at William R. Johnson Coliseum.

The Cowgirls, who led by two at halftime, saw the Ladyjacks surge ahead with a 22-point third quarter. Stephen F. Austin held a four-point lead entering the fourth, but McNeese State forced overtime tied at 60. The Cowgirls dominated the extra period, outscoring the Ladyjacks 10-4 to secure the win before an announced crowd of 1,843.

McNeese State improved to 17-4. Stephen F. Austin fell to 14-7. The result defied a statistical projection that heavily favored the Ladyjacks.
