Preview: Duke Women Set for ACC Clash at Miami

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (Interstat) — A surging Duke women’s basketball team aims to extend its seven-game winning streak Thursday when it visits the Miami Hurricanes in an Atlantic Coast Conference matchup at Watsco Center.

The Blue Devils (14-6, 7-0 ACC) have been dominant in conference play, most recently routing Pittsburgh 95-41 on Saturday. Duke’s defense has been stifling, holding ACC opponents to an average of 52.1 points during the streak.

Duke’s success has been fueled by balance, but forward Arianna Roberson has been a standout. The sophomore is coming off a 19-point, 12-rebound performance against Pitt and is averaging 13.4 points and 5.4 rebounds over her last seven games. She is complemented by a deep roster that saw Riley Nelson and Toby Fournier also post big numbers in the win over the Panthers.

The Hurricanes (12-8, 3-4) look to build momentum after a 75-66 road win at SMU on Sunday, which snapped a three-game skid. Miami’s offense runs through guard Amarachi Kimpson, who is averaging 18.4 points over her last seven contests. She scored 23 points in the victory over SMU.

Miami has shown resilience at home in conference play, notching wins over Florida State and Virginia Tech, but faces its toughest ACC test to date. The Hurricanes will need to solve Duke’s defensive pressure, which forces over 18 turnovers per game.

Historically, Duke has controlled the series, winning 12 of the last 15 meetings. However, the Hurricanes won the most recent matchup in Coral Gables in 2024.

The game tips off at 8 p.m. EST and will be broadcast on ACC Network. For Duke, a win would solidify its hold atop the ACC standings. For Miami, it represents a prime opportunity to secure a season-defining victory and bolster its postseason resume.

Duke visits Louisville next on Feb. 5. Miami continues its homestand Sunday against Syracuse.
