WASHINGTON (Interstat) — Meg Cahalan scored 25 points to lead Holy Cross to a 70-58 victory over American in a Patriot League women’s basketball game Saturday at Bender Arena.

The Crusaders (11-8) led wire-to-wire, building a 32-27 halftime advantage. They maintained control with a consistent offensive effort, scoring 16 points in each of the first three quarters before pulling away with 22 in the fourth. Holy Cross dominated inside, outscoring American 34-16 in the paint.

Cahalan, a 6-foot-2 junior from Middletown, New Jersey, added two rebounds and two assists in 31 minutes. Charlotte Tuhy recorded a double-double for the Eagles (5-14) with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Attendance was 413.
