Green Bay at Wright State

FAIRBORN, Ohio (Interstat) — The Green Bay Phoenix will look to rebound from a road loss and solidify their position in the Horizon League standings when they visit the struggling Wright State Raiders on Tuesday, Dec. 30.

Green Bay (8-5) enters the contest after a 66-50 defeat at Miami (Ohio) on Dec. 20, which snapped a three-game winning streak. The Phoenix have shown resilience this season, with notable non-conference wins over Kansas State and a strong performance in a close loss to Washington.

A key player for the Phoenix is Jenna Guyer, who has been a consistent offensive force. Over her last five games, Guyer is averaging 12.2 points, including a 19-point, 8-rebound effort at Washington. She led Green Bay with 12 points in the loss to Miami (Ohio).

Wright State (5-9) seeks to end a four-game skid, most recently a 96-53 loss at Kentucky on Dec. 19. The Raiders’ last victory was a 61-57 home win over Oakland on Dec. 3. They have struggled defensively, allowing an average of 73.4 points during their current losing streak.

Claire Henson will be a focal point for the Raiders’ offense. She scored 17 points in the win over Oakland and is coming off a 10-point performance at Kentucky. Her production will be critical against a Green Bay team holding opponents to an average of 60.2 points per game this season.

This matchup at the Ervin J. Nutter Center is the Horizon League opener for both teams. Green Bay holds a clear advantage in record, but the conference schedule presents a fresh start for Wright State. The Phoenix will aim to leverage their defensive discipline, while the Raiders hope home court can spark an upset to turn their season around.

The teams will meet again in Green Bay on Jan. 29.
